Departure Day

My mostly random packing procedures have been completed and this afternoon we will begin a very long journey.  We will travel great distances in giant flying machines to visit people who, in some cases, have never ridden in a car or on a bicycle for that matter.  Our lives will be changed by these encounters more than theirs, since such a journey changes your perspective.  

But before all that, we must relinquish a day of our lives to getting there.  We leave on Wednesday afternoon and will not step out onto the tarmac under the dark African sky until Thursday night!

So, keep us in your prayers and pray for those we will visit.  Old friends and strangers we will meet along the way.  We will worship with people living lives so unlike our own that we may as well be different species.  God intends to teach us something new about the world and our place in it during this Vision Trip to Tanzania.  What will that be?
